4 Tips for | Getting the Most from Your Haircut

1. Research, Research, Research!

Be sure, [before] you're appointment to look for ideas of what you want. If you walk into the salon and say "whatever you think is best" I can almost guarantee you will be dissatisfied with the results. It's important to let your hairdresser know what you want, and what direction you want your new look to go in. If you hand over the reins completely to your hairdresser, then you've entered no-man's land!

2. Get to know your hair dresser.
The more you know about him/her the more you will learn about what styles they have mastered best. Not all hairdressers are the same, and others have specialties in varying areas of hair technique. Talk to your hairdresser and dont be afraid or intimidated to express what you want. If you are not comfortable with your hairdressers response, then be sure to politely leave. Nothing is worse than paying for a haircut you don't totally love!

3. Pay Attention!
There are times when you're hairdresser will use a certain brush or technique in order to style your hair. Pay attention to these moments so you will be able to recreate them on your own time, giving you the salon ready hair you dream about on a day to day basis.

4. Invest in the Products.
When it comes to your hair, you want what is best. The number one most noticeable thing a woman can wear, is her hair. It's always there and always unruly. Talk to your hairdresser about what products he/she can suggest that you use, based on your hair type. I have extremely curly hair, and have learned over the years that there are certain products which will not give me the look I want! Be sure you're using the right products for your hair type!

So we all love to eat as much as the next girl. But let's face it, those pounds are getting real comfortable in spots they should not be. 5 Beauty Skills Every Woman Should Know

Skill 1 : Applying False Eyelashes Without Screaming Bloody Murder

By far, this can be one of the most frustrating tasks, ever. But it's also one skill, that when mastered, might change your life forever!

Skill 2: The Perfect Cat Eye

Having two perfectly flicked symmetrical cat eye's can be next to impossible. But I promise the day you master this skill, you will be forever thankful to high fashion gods!

Skill 3: Mastering the Messy Bun

Oh yes, the messy bun. All-time favorite look, but a never ending frustration -- when it's not the right kind of messy. This skill will change your life, quite literally, on those days you just don't know what to do with that mop on your head!

Skill 4: Lipgloss for Adults

Because not all shine is good shine. Sometimes you don't want to look like a teenie-bopper!

Currently Obsessing: Echosmith

Echosmith  {Tell her you love her }

Tell her a story
Tell her the honest truth
You treat her better
Make sure to see it through

Don't be just everything she wants
Be everything she needs
When she says she loves you
Tell her you love her too

Give her a reason
A reason to love all you do

She'll tell you secrets
You'll tell her secrets too
She'll tell you all her hopes and dreams
You'll tell them too

When she says she loves you
Tell her you love her too
But don't you run away run away
When you get tired
Cus this will slip away slip away
And start a fire
That can never be put out
Oh hurry time is running out
But don't you run away run away
Before you tell her

You love her too

Summer Dress

Summer Dress

So down here in Miami, we summer beach girls love to brunch on Lincoln Road. And let's face it, during these summer months, that summer sun can scorch your shoes right off. I always love simple day dresses for brunch on the beach. And this yellow number, pairs exceptionally well with these all neutral tones.

Restaurant Review: La Tagliatella | Coral Gables

La Tagliatella
301 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, FL 33134
(786) 464-0516

So lunch with the girls is always a good idea, and on this particular day we had a full house. Therefore it was safe to say that Italian, (or shall we say more specifically that pizza) was in order. While bridesmaid shopping on Miracle Mile, we discovered this little Italian joint, which specializes in very thin, very delicious pizza.

We ordered 3 different pizzas (clockwise from the left) :

Quattro Formaggi
Margherita
Parmigiano
&
Ceaser Salad

*Each meal is served with fresh bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar

I must honestly say, that each pizza was fresh and delicious with its own unique combination of toppings and cheeses. The service was on point, and the decor made it feel as though you were in Florence itself enjoying your meal. Combined with the good company of family, I have to say I would definitely recommend this location for any future lunch dates with friends or family. La Tagliatella would also be good for romantic date nights with the arm charm and they specialize in all types and fresh and dried pastas.

Pop of Color

Pop of Color

Good morning Lovelies!

I put this cute outfit inspo together for a simple day at the mall, or maybe a small brunch with close friends and family. Very Audrey chic with the cat eye, cashmere, and neutral tones. However, I do love my pop of color, and this orange handbag pairs perfectly well with the overall look!

Good Reads: The Little Black Book of Style

This book is quite a fun and informative read. Nina Garcia keeps her voice light throughout, with a few funny moments that are genuinely surprised. I'm not a huge fan of 'Project Runway' and therefore was a little surprised the narrator is a judge on the hit show. I had no expectations upon beginning, but had hear her tone tended to be dry and even condescending -- this is the infamous Nina Garcia, after all.

But I was quite surprised. Especially around my first laugh-at-loud moment, when she discusses the importance of buying shoes that actually fit your feet and not just your budget: "Toes spilling out of a pair of strappy, sexy sandals is a very painful sight. I do not wince out of sympathy for your feet. I side with the shoes."

The rules of style never really change -- however, Nina Garcia does a great job at giving you the tools to edit your closet, your shopping habits and helping you discover and create your own style.

Aside from the usual advice one gets from style manuals, she provides a chapter on finding your fashion inspiration, complete with a bulleted lists of movies and rock fashion icons. She also has an entire chapter of quick question and answer sessions from fashion professionals such as John Galliano, Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, Oscar De La Renta, etc.

However, at the end of the text I found that I wanted to read more of her own experiences with style and fashion. These moments in the book were by far the high points. While I did like the inclusion of so many lists, her voice was lost sometimes lost among all of the bullet points. Which is a shame, because some of her life stories are truly unique, such as the one about her mother's live-in seamstress (this is by far my favorite part of the book)

Overall, this book was a fun, informative read that left me smiling for the rest of the day. I highly suggest it, no matter what your level of fashion or style experience may be.

Happy Monday Lovers <3

It's officially safe to say the temperatures here in South Florida have reached the all time high of HOT! I put this number together for a quick day of errands and lunch with the sisters. I love the casual yet chic look of the crochet top paired with the patterned shorts. Add a pop of color with the coral purse, and we're in business!

Keep a lookout for some fun tidbits from this weekends Miami Beach Swim Fashion Week!
