The Sun.

Bright and beautiful in all its glory.
It spreads its warmth on all who can appreciate it for what it is.
A warmth that culminates at your toes and seeps into your very being
until all you feel is the joy of that heat.

The Sun has only one nemesis.
One true villain for her beauty to fear.
The Eclipse.

He comes slowly with the purpose of overshadowing her glory.
He brings cold and darkness in his wake.
He blocks out all light
 and spreads the dark cold gloom into your very soul.
Until you are only left with the gripping fear
 that you will never see the Sun in all her beauty again.

That her warmth will not be felt
 or her brilliance will never be experienced,
the fear that she will forever be in shadow.

But Time will always be patient and kind.
She will show the Eclipse his way on
and will show the Sun how to shine
 and spread her warmth again.
Time will bring the Sun back to her glory
 and be there to steady her
 and show her what she needs.

Time will guide the way.
Because only Time knows how to brave the Sun’s heat.
Only time knows how and when to spread her glory to its fullest.
And only Time can fully appreciate the perfection that is the Sun.

Ever have a group friends that just, get it.

Considering I live at home with 3 of my best friends [being my sisters] I have always had tremendous difficulty maintaining female friendships. Women are tough to deal with -- they can be viscous and mean and catty. This type of behavior is typical amongst sisters -- so not a second thought is given.

 But when raised among sisters who do not tolerate this behavior from others "outside the pack" -- things become complicated and difficult when attempting to make "friends" (never thought I would actually need those).

But oddly enough, even those of use who are constantly surrounded by women -- we still need girlfriends. Women you can share your day with and cultivate a mutual bond . Women who you can vent your frustrations and who will laugh with you ||not at you||. These type of women are hard to come by. There are so many differing factions of women, that sometimes it's hard to find your niche.

So for years I got used to the quiet solitude of just myself and my sisters (which is by no means quiet). But you can't be alone forever. Every woman needs to have her friends of the female variety.

I seem to have collected an eclectic mix of girlfriends. But each of these women brings something valuable to the table, and together we make our own little group of misfits.

{Not quite here, but not quite there}

We understand each other -- although we all come from different backgrounds. We genuinely enjoy our time together and can easily pass hours with just simple conversation and deep-throated laughter (the kind that bubbles up and comes bursting out -- uncontrollably).

You guys make me feel normal. You make me feel as though maybe, {just maybe} things aren't as bad as they seem. That maybe I do have my own niche -- I just had bring it together myself.

Our lunch time adventures have come to be {easily} my favorite part of the day.

Life is simpler.

{Easier || Better}

With each of you.

Have you ever felt so completely connected to another soul, that you feel like you breath the same air and think on the same wavelength. Your thoughts are the same, your imaginations, goals, and values -- all shared commonly amongst each other.

I've spent a lifetime surrounded by women. Being raised in a house of 4 sisters and a mom -- tends to lead to a breeding ground of womanly pursuits and endeavors. All kinds of shopping, make up, shoes, and girl talk. Yes we are catty. Yes we love to talk shit. What group of girlfriends doesn't do this?

{ The exception? }

These girls are my sisters.

Can you imagine growing up with and living with your three closest best friends, round the clock 24 hours a day -- for 25 years. The three people who know each and every one of your memories or secrets, because at the end of the day they shared them with you.

These three people are the cornerstone of my life. They keep my sane in my most insane moments. They bring me back to the ground, when circumstance catapults me into the sky. They give me the air I breathe, and paint the picture of the woman I aspire to be.  They keep the days brights and give life it's many colors.

These 3 women are at the very core of who I believe myself to be. And each of them posses qualities of the woman I have always envisioned myself to be. I have learned valuable qualities from each of you. And to each of you I owe a multitude of thanks.

Thanks for the unconditional love in my darkest moments.
Thanks for pushing me to keep going, when quitting was what I wanted most.
Thanks for having the unshakable belief that I can conquer what I most wanted.
Thanks for believing I can achieve the un-achievable.

But mainly, thanks for sticking by my side when the road got rough.

{Because in the end we're family}

"Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind."

Togetherness.

Sometimes you just want to free fall into life.

Take what the world has to offer and run wild with it.

Play in the life's sandbox.

The only thing I ask, is that you run by side.
