Endless Road to Summer

It honestly already feels like summer. 

But then again, in Sunny South Florida, summer usually arrives in April. So I would say we're right on track. How do you dress according to season, when you live in an endless summer? It's as though Miami seems to have forgotten that Spring comes in between Winter and Summer. Nope. We went straight into Summer mode.

The temperatures are nearing the 90's and the weather can be described by one word: HOT. 

But Spring lives in the heart, and is manifested in the fashion of those of us who keep it alive. Spring lives in the florals and pastels that we wear for ourselves. That we project to those around them, asking them to embrace the season of flowers and rebirth. 

Spring is a time to embrace the renewal of life. A time in which you can reflect on those aspects of yourself you wish to rebuild. remake. and remold. This is the time of "spring cleaning". 

Out with the old and in with the new. 

But Miami and has deemed to skip this period of rebirth and has catapulted into the blistering heat of summer. Where the only solace you can find is the happiness you feel from the warmth of the sun. 

But sometimes we all need a little reminder.

Itty Bitty Mini Skirt

I've had this mini skirt in my closet for years. But I've come to the simple realization that all J. Crew pieces are timeless pieces. They never seem to go out of style. Paired with a leopard belt and white top, it's simple day into night outfit choice. 

This look can be easily adapted for casual outings with friends, or for a night out on the town. The look screams casual brunch and/or lunch date, but gives enough leeway to transcend into an after work drink at happy hour. 

Either way the color combo, paired with the bold statement pieces is enough to make any girl happy.

My outfit inspo is quite simple... literally. 

An ode to the simple basics of black and white. The white floral chain, big and chunky that it is, always pairs well with minimalist colors. It doesn't get any simpler than your basic black and white. 

The simple elegance of an all black ensemble, pairs with the perfect Chanel bag screams simple high fashion. 

These pieces are quickly becoming closet favorites.

Just a quick update in between the chaos that is midterms. 

It's been insane these last couple of days/weeks -- and as always school is one of the biggest headaches around. But, hey! no one said working full time and going to school would be easy, right?

Grin and bear it. There's only two semesters left.
