I have nothing to write.

A complete, and total writer's block.

This upsets me in ways that I cannot even fathom. I'm so used to feeling the words flow freely through me, and when my mind is blank -- it feels as though my soul is blank. As though there is nothing there to be thought of or felt. It is simply empty. Life continues to revolve, but my inner sanctum has shut down. My inner creative juices have stopped flowing, and simply come to a cease fire.

Life feels as though there is nothing really important. As though it is one endless cycle after another. You go through the motions of the day, keep to your routine -- but what does this accomplish? What is your goal? What do you have to look forward to? Where are you going in life?

{Ultimately}

I think the question is not where you're going, but if you'll ever get there?

Life has so many uncertainties, and sometimes the endless routines are not enough. Sometimes you need that burst of color to come through your drab world of black, white, and grey. Sometimes you need to feel whatever fuels you, coursing through you in a way that will motivate you for change. Something to get you out of bed in the morning in order to accomplish the feats your have tasked for yourself.

Sometimes you just need to make it through the cloudy days, in order to appreciate the sun when she rises again. Sometimes you need to feel the bitter cold, in order to love the warmth of the rays. And maybe, just sometimes, you need to learn to appreciate what you have, in order to know the risk you run in losing such loves.

Food for thought my friends <3

Beautiful Disaster

Wearing

Striped Pants: Gap Inc. | Grey Sweater Shirt: The Limited | Statement Chain & Bracelet: J. Crew | Watch: Michael Kors | Ring Stack: Henri Bendel | Purse: Marc Jacobs | Blush Pumps: Steve Madden

Have you ever felt like such a mess, you're not quite sure what to do with yourself or where to go from there? You just get lost in the chaos that seems to be enveloping every aspect of your life. But in the end only beauty can be found from your disaster?

I have felt like this multiple times in my life. Times in which only the dark unknown chaos was familiar to me. I learned to navigate these uncharted waters, until I found the shores of home. Not an easy task considering how perilous the unknown can be, and it is {damn right} scary. You get lost in what you fear and seem to lose a sense of who you are and what you had hoped to be.

And yet..

When you escape this darkness, it's as though a new you has been forged from the unknown chaos. You come home from these turbulent times someone different and new. Someone who knows what it is like to live through the darkness as well as the light. You know the feeling of being lost in the sea of you mind. You know what it's like to feel loss and suffering of your own internal self. You know what it's like to lose a piece of you, and come out a harder individual on the other side.

But the end result is always something beautiful.

You can handle more than what you thought you normally could.
You are stronger than you were before.
You are more resilient.

You learn that within the chaos that is your mind, there is a sense of learning and structure. And this newly forged you would not be possible without the trials and avails of the darkest corners of your mind.

Eastern Religion teaches the power reincarnation, and that it is the soul's purpose in life to achieve self actualization. What if the key to your self actualization lies in discovering the darkest corners of your mind, and conquering them. In order to do so, you would have to be willing to venture into the chaotic mess that is your internal self -- a let these pieces of you go. Only then would you be able to escape the karmic wheel.

Just some food for thought...

Until next time friends <3

Talking Favorites

Wearing

Lace Top: Forever 21 | Blue Skinnie Mini: Gap Inc. | Blush Pumps: Steve Madden | Statement Fringe Necklace: J. Crew | Watch: Michael Kors | Ring Stack: Henri Bendel | Beaded Bracelets: Various Designers | Gold Thumb Ring: Coach

Today we're talking favorites

And {trust me} I got plenty.

There are always those key pieces in your closet or collection which you seem to gravitate to more often than not. A certain dress, a favorite blazer, even a favorite pair shoes.

Me?

I have a few key pieces which seem to be featured on almost every post.

My Henri Bendel Ring Stack for instance. A piece which just seems to pair well with everything. And when I say everything, I mean literally -- everything. The stack itself was not purchased in this manner. Each piece came from another set purchased from Mr. Bendel. Over time I came to mix and match my favorites, and voila! My favorite stacked piece of jewelry came to fruition.

The Steve Madden Deja Vu Pump, is another key piece which I find I cannot live without. In my steady 9 - 5 it's imperative to find a shoe which you can easily spend most of the day in. Having to walk to the office corridors and spend hours on end with 6" + on your feet -- not always fun. Until I discovered this pump.

One word.

{Incredible}

Not only extremely comfortable that I find myself spending 8+ hours walking in 6" heels -- but extremely classy, trendy, and chic. As such, I have purchased this heel in (3) signature colors: Black, Cognac, and Blush. Three neutral tones which add just enough spark to each outfit. And let's face it -- they pair well with almost everything.

p.s I hope your enjoying the blog. I look forward to hearing from you. Should you have any comments or suggestions on looks you love or would like to see featured on the blog, leave a comment. I would be happy to oblige!

Until next time friends <3

Seeing Stripes

Wearing

Black Top & Striped Pencil Skirt: The Limited | Purse & Watch: Michael Kors | Black Pumps: Steve Madeen | Statement Chain: J. Crew | Sunnies: Gap Inc. | Assorted Ring Stack: Henri Bendel | Assorted Bracelets: Various Designers

For months I have felt as though a piece of me has been missing. This hole that seemed to ache from the bottom of my heart was due to the loss of my long time friend and love -- JR.

I have mourned his loss for so long I began to feel as though I was adrift in the sea of his memories. He was my whole life, and suddenly he was taken from me. With no time to cope or deal, I had to face the harsh reality of his loss. No amount of time, effort, or tears will ever help to heal the hole that he left behind.

But Pepper?

She can make the dark days seem just that much brighter. She gives me purpose and life. She makes me feel as though I can continue to love. As though JR will always own a piece of my heart, but there are still other pieces to be dealt. Other little furry creatures which deserve to be loved and spoiled in the same manner.

And so, slowly -- the pain of the loss eases. Light begins to shine in where you otherwise thought the darkness had completely taken over. She is the light, and without her I would continue to wander with no real purpose.

She feels like the bright warmth of the sun, after spending months in the dismal winter.
